You might remember that my sport yarn was featured in the inaugural Holla Knits issue this spring in Allyson's Umbre Lovre pattern. That was the first time my yarn had been featured, and I was super excited to be able to do it again this fall.
One of my favorite concepts from Holla Knits is how each pattern offers not only two yarn options (a hand dyed yarn and a Knit Picks yarn), but two color schemes as well. I think it can be intimidating for a lot of knitters to move beyond the suggested yarn (and even the color!) in a pattern. By giving even one additional option shows knitters it is possible - and fun! - to try different yarn and color options.
Of course, as a dyer, I'm drooling over all the luscious hand dyed goodness:

I was lucky enough to provide yarn support for the super-talented Katie Canavan's Irish Cable shorts. When I was talking color story with Allyson, she suggested something in a coral tone, and that it would be used for a pair of cabled shorts. I came up with this kicky color "Cherry Bomb" on my BFL DK base - because if you're rocking a pair of knit shorts, you should be noticed, right?
And... you can win the yarn and the pattern! Here's how:

First step, if you want to win the yarn, you need to be a subscriber. So, if you aren't a subscriber yet, go subscribe!

I've been waiting for this yarn giveaway since Allyson posted the first sneak peeks of it! LOVE the color and LOVE that it's BFL, one of my favorite wools that I think is under appreciated!
I'm a subscriber and will have to make these. Seems like a quick project to squeeze in for myself and so cute. Your yarn is beautiful, btw.
Annnd I also just tweeted it, I'm @welforddesigns.

I love the slight variations in the color of this yarn. That's been my new obsession since seeing all the gorgeous hand dyed yarns in the summer Holla Knits issue!
I'm a subscriber! I love these, I showed then to all my sister's who each want a pair, lol :)
I am a subscriber and I'm already imagining knitting up with this yarn! Lovely!
The yarn looks sooooo smooshy! <3
Oops, I was the last subscriber who posted but for some reason, I'm coming up as anonymous!!!
I'm a subscriber and I think the yarn color is lovely! I'm not sure if I'm brave enough for cable on my booty, but given how cute they look on the models I'm giving it some serious though.
I'm a subscriber and I think these shorts are awesome. I love the colour!!
A bunch of cute knits for sure. Not feelin the cable shorts. Perhaps if I was 6" taller and 50 lbs lighter, LOL and for sure 30 yrs younger...Thank you for sharing, I'm headed to some of these blogs on your list and check them out. Have a great weekend.
I'm a subscriber and am flyingpigknits on Rav. I am waiting for my yarn to come so I can start a Devon for me! :)
The things I could do with this yarn!!!!!!
I'm a subscriber, and I love that color! Not sure the shorts are really my style, but I could use it to make Allyson's cute circle skirt! (My subscriber email is jnsarber @ gmail.com)
Quite a few interesting patterns here! The cable shorts are very eye catching, tho I'm not sure if I'd knit them as much as I love knitting cables. It would be a great conversation piece with knitters and non-knitters.
I love that color!!
That color is lovely and I am a subscriber! Wee!
Thanks so much....I'm in love with the drop stitch sweater and I think that that will be next on my needles.
i love your yarn! the coral color is so pretty :) and i'm a subscriber!
I have to agree, I'm not sure how I feel about knit shorts for me... but it's something I might do for my sister. ;-)
I really like that drop-stitch detail on the grey sweater.
i'm your new subscriber!
anyone who can knit up a pair of shorts is my kind of knitter! but, sad to say, i would no longer think of shorts as a knitting project. however, my granddaughter's daughter is a young teenie who would love them. so, thanx for the opportunity to win the pattern and the beautiful yarn.
i've posted your fb post on this giveaway to my fb page ...
https://www.facebook.com/#!/rita.goshorn ! so sorry i do not tweet or pin, just for the extra chance to win!
Those are some sassy patterns and I love the cherry red you created for those shorts...now I wish my body would cooperate so I would look good in some of those knits ;-)
THanks for: By giving even one additional option shows knitters it is possible - and fun! - to try different yarn and color options
But I'm still worried about the fibre's in your crockpot!!!lol
Here is my tweet: https://twitter.com/laneycath/status/246868380164968448
Love this yarn and this pattern! I'm not sure i can pull off knit shorts, but these really make me want to try!! (I'm a subscriber)
Soooo delicious! I'm not sure about knit shorts, but I'm wondering if these shorts could become a miniskirt... (I'm a subscriber!)
I love this color. Sooo happy I am a subscriber!
What an appropriate color choice. Coral evokes the nearly-gone summer while also previewing the changing leaves of the autumn. It really is seasonal and transitional at the same time. Oh what I'd make with this gorgeous color!

I don't know if I have the body shape for the shorts, but they are cute!
